OpenAI quietly fixed a ChatGPT bug that could have exposed your Gmail data
A significant security flaw, dubbed “ShadowLeak,” was recently discovered and subsequently patched by OpenAI in its ChatGPT Deep Research agent, which could have allowed cybercriminals to access users’ Gmail accounts. The vulnerability, identified by cybersecurity firm Radware in February, enabled attackers to discreetly extract sensitive information from both personal and corporate Gmail accounts linked to the service. What made this flaw particularly alarming was its “zero-click” nature, meaning data could be stolen without any user interaction.
